Accommodations to Make While Your Vehicle is in the Shop

accommodations to make for your vehicle

Life doesn't stop moving while your car is in the shop - jobs are still nine-to-five, school is still in session, and groceries aren't going to pick themselves up. And unfortunately, a note from your mechanic isn't going to impress your boss. So here are some car travel tips to make your life easier while your automobile is under the wrench.

Joining a regular carpool is a great way to hitch a ride when you need it most. Ask around your workplace to see about setting one up. If you don't happen to live close to some coworkers, you can pay a small fee to join a commuter service. And, in addition to doing yourself a favor--by joining a carpool, you'll also save on gas, reduce your emissions, and free up lanes on the highway.

For vehicle repairs that might take you out of commission for more than a day or two, consider renting a car. Often rentals are fairly inexpensive, and your auto shop may have a special deal or discount on offering rentals while they work on your vehicle. In fact, some Vehicle Service Contracts also reimburse for rental car usage when you're having a covered repair. EasyCare has several plans to help you out when your car is in the shop.

As you can see, having your car in the shop doesn't need to be a bummer. Plan ahead and your transition back to the driver's seat will be quick and painless.
