Preparing a Road Trip Emergency Kit

There are many car travel tips to consider before hitting the road for your next vacation from checking your tire pressure to coming prepared with activities to keep the kids entertained. Additionally, on a long trip you may encounter unexpected circumstances, and it always helps to be ready with solutions on hand.
In your emergency kit, include a warning light or flares in case your vehicle breaks down in the middle of the night. These items can protect you from oncoming traffic. A flashlight will not only be helpful at night, but also during the day if you need to look under the hood of your car.
Bring jumper cables and a spare tire so you'll be ready to fix these issues without having to head to the nearest store. Keep your auto club membership card on hand so you can call for roadside assistance if necessary (on that note, don't forget your phone charger).
Be prepared for passenger concerns, as well. Include a first aid kit to treat any cuts or scrapes. A few plastic bags, paper towels and extra water can help clean up any food spills or the results of car sickness.
These essentials can help you handle problems that may arise on your trip.
