Famous Cartoon Vehicles

Thanks to early childhood days of waking up at 7 a.m. every Saturday, pouring a big bowl of cereal and zoning out for hours of cartoons, there are a few animated vehicles that have become instantly-recognizable television icons. Often, these vehicles would become an integral part of the show's appeal - sometimes equal to the characters themselves. Here are some of the most famous cartoon vehicles that continue to entertain kids to this day.

The Mystery Machine
Fans of the popular supernatural-comedy cartoon, Scooby Doo, will remember the gang's signature Mystery Machine. Week after week, Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne would pile into their groovy blue and green '60s-era van to solve spooky and hilarious capers involving haunted amusement parks and monster-ridden castles.

The Magic School Bus
Based on the beloved educational series by Joanna Cole, the Magic School Bus was an educational PBS cartoon that exposed children to the wonders of science. The show starred elementary school teacher Ms. Frizzle and her magic school bus - an anthropomorphic bus capable of transforming into things like various animals, a time machine and even a speck of dust.

The Gadgetmobile
Inspector Gadget - the titular half man, half machine detective of the '80s animated series - boasted a wide variety of powers that allowed him to extend his arms and legs, deploy roller skates from his shoes and fly using a helicopter device stored in his hat. His trusty vehicle, the Gadgetmobile sported many of these same features and was voice activated.
