Famous TV Show Cars

While their drivers may not abide by strict car safety tips, the truly memorable cars from classic television shows are among the fastest and coolest automobiles ever conceived (even if some are purely fictional). Here are some car travel tips on the most famous television show cars of all time.

The Striped Tomato - Starsky and Hutch
A timeless example of the 1970s cop drama, Starsky and Hutch also featured one of the hottest police vehicles ever - the Striped Tomato. A beautiful red and white 1974 Ford Gran Torino, this tricked-out ride burned its fair share of rubber, according to The Chicago Tribune.

KITT - Knight Rider
Standing for the Knight Industries Two Thousand, KITT often outshone David Hasselhoff as the coolest part of Knight Rider. This modified 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am contained an on-board computer along with a variety of weapons and gadgets that aided Hasselhoff in his free-wheeling fight against crime, MSN.com reports.

The General Lee - The Dukes of Hazzard
MSN.com reports that approximately 301 to 329 vehicles were destroyed filming the Dukes of Hazzard's signature car jump scenes. The General Lee - an orange 1969 Dodge Charger sporting the Confederate flag on top - was Bo and Luke Duke's chosen means of avoiding the authorities.
