Haunted Connecticut

While it might seem like a quiet New England locale perfect for apple picking, hay rides and other relaxing activities, Connecticut also features some of the most haunted destinations in the U.S. Here are some car travel tips on finding some of the Nutmeg state's spookiest spots.

Dudleytown
Situated in Cornwall, Dudleytown is an 18th century village that was mysteriously abandoned and left to become part of the woods. Today, all that remains are a few scattered buildings, stone walls and foundations, but there have been instances of ghost sightings, mysterious sounds and an eerie chill that has spooked even the bravest explorers.

Downs Road
In the quiet town of Hamden is a closed road that has been a source of urban legends for generations. Local residents report strange, deformed creatures roaming the wooded path at night and leaving traces of destruction on nearby houses and cars.

Union Cemetery
Now over 400 years old, this Easton cemetery is known as one of the most popular ghost-hunting destinations in Connecticut. Visitors claim to have encountered the White Lady, a mysterious spirit that haunts the grounds and is responsible for the paranormal activity that have made Union Cemetery famous.
