Tips for Keeping your Coffee Hot in the Car

How to Keep your Coffee Hot in the Car

Whether you're shivering during the early morning commute or trying to fight off sleep during a midnight ride, few things are worse than discovering your coffee's gone prematurely cold. Iced coffee is great for the summer, but old, lukewarm coffee is never good. You need something designed to trap heat without breaking any car safety tips about having two hands on the wheel or avoiding hot liquid spills. Here are some car travel tips about keeping your coffee hot in the car.

Travel mug
According to Good Housekeeping, one of the best, standard methods for keeping coffee hot is carrying a thermos or travel mug. You can brew your own coffee at home or bring the mug along to the local coffee shop (you may even receive a discount!).

Heated cup
Travel mugs are great, but even they have their limit when it comes to keeping coffee piping hot. If you're looking to add some extra warmth, DMV.org recommends a heated mug that can plug into your car's cigarette lighter. Advanced models can even connect to computers' USB ports.

Adjustable cup holders
Taking a different spin on the heated mug, some car manufacturers offer cup holders that can heat or cool your beverage depending on your preference. DMV.org reports that you can also purchase a similar product independently that attaches to the heating vent for a constant stream of warm air.
