How to Save Time on the Road

Although taking your time on a road trip is sometimes the best way to enjoy it, your days off from work might be limited. Whether you're traveling for business or recreation, you might want to reach your destination in a timely manner because of your tight schedule. If this is the case, there are several things you can do to make your trip a little shorter.
It's important for you to consolidate your time. If you're traveling with children and one of them has to use the bathroom, ask everyone else in the vehicle to do the same. Also, stop somewhere like a travel center or gas station that will allow you to fill your tank while everyone is tending to their personal needs. By grabbing food and gas in one place, you'll be able to travel longer distances without finding the need to stop.
For the sake of preserving time, it's also helpful to travel on interstates as much as possible. One-lane roads will often lead to many traffic lights and town centers, which can significantly add minutes to the trip.
