What to do When You Encounter Road Rage

If you commute often, typical drives may be smooth and distraction-free. However, you might encounter road rage from time to time. If this happens, you may be wondering exactly how to respond, especially if your children are in the car.

Remain passive for the sake of your children, teaching them to follow your example. Even if you're alone, never respond to road rage with anger, as this can make the situation worse. Instead, take a deep breath and let the distraught driver pass or simply keep your distance to protect you, your family and your vehicle. If you're at a stop light and the enraged driver begins to get out of the car, lock all the doors and contact the police as soon as possible to file a report.
